Mukaratirwa blames sewer bursts on vandalism

Masvingo – The heavy sewage spillage into Mucheke River in Masvingo is a result of blockages caused by the dumping of foreign objects including large stones and the stealing of manhole lids, Town Clerk Engineer Edward Mukaratirwa has said.
Mukaratirwa said this in a statement last night to explain why sewage reported by The Mirror was spilling into Mucheke River.
“The City is facing a challenge of vandalism of our sewer system along Mucheke trunk mains leading to blockages and spillage of effluent into Mucheke River.
“Residents are therefore urged to desist from dumping foreign objects, stealing manhole lids and vandalizing infrastructure,” read the statement. https://twonations.co.zw/
