Masvingo Police trains public relations officers

MASVINGO- The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has trained its Community Relations Liaison Officers’ (CRLO) in Masvingo Province.
The one day workshop was held at local Guest House in Rhodhene, Masvingo on Wednesday.
Acting Officer Commanding Masvingo Province, Assistant Commissioner Frederick Mbengwa and Envision Zimbabwe Women’s Trust director Anyway Mtetwa attended the event.
Envision Zimbabwe Women’s Trust sponsored the workshop and the CRLO’s were drawn from the province’s seven districts.
Mbengwa urged the CRLOs to listen and work positively with residents as the ZRP relies on the public to crack different cases.
He also urged them to carry out awareness campaigns urging people not to walk in bushy roads or pathways alone particularly at night due to the alarming numbers of people who are falling victim to robbers and rapists hiding in bushes
“ZRP relies on the benevolence of the public, through their benevolence, we have managed to crack serious cases therefore I urge all CRLO’s to start with customer care and end with customer care. You should handle the public with the highest level of professionalism,” said Mbengwa.
Mtetwa said that his organisation appreciates the work that Police is doing to uphold the rights of girls and women.
