BEITBRIDGE – Beitbridge Town councillors were not invited for the official opening of the US$300 million modernised and upgraded Beitbridge Border Post, Two Nations has learnt.Ward 5 councillor, Granger Nyoni expressed concern at the development and said that such should not happen because they are the representatives of the residents of Zimbabwe’s largest border town.

Nyoni said this during a full council meeting held at Beitbridge Town council house last week. All Beitbridge councilors belong to the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change.“We are worried and concerned that we are being left out on important occasions in which our presence is important as representatives of urban residents.

We were left out during the recent official opening of Border Post,” said Nyoni. Beitbridge Mayor Munyaradzi Chitsunge said the matter was going to be taken up with authorities.“We will ensure that action is taken so that councillors are considered on such important events,” said Chitsunge.http://twonations.co.zw/
