GWANDA – Police in Gwanda have arrested a 22-year-old armed robber who produced a firearm before robbing his victim of cell phones and cash.
Bupilo Ndlovu was arrested in Gwanda town while selling the stolen cellphones, said National Police spokesperson Paul Nyathi in an interview with Two Nations.
“The suspect and his accomplice, only identified as Kelvin, attacked a complainant before stealing three cellphones, a black wallet containing ZAR400 and a national identity card.
“The suspect was apprehended in Gwanda town while selling the stolen cellphones that were both recovered,” said Nyathi in a statement.
The mining town has seen a surge in armed robbery cases, and only recently, four armed robbers were gunned down following a hijacking incident.http://twonations.co.zw
